Diverse slate on November sports calendar

Regular seasons chug along on the sports slate for the month ahead. Here’s a look at 10 highlights on the November sports calendar, including the UFC at MSG and key races for NASCAR and Formula 1 drivers.

NHL Regular Season (November 1-30)

A busy Saturday night to begin the NHL’s November slate includes Dallas at Florida, Ottawa at Montreal, and Toronto at Philadelphia, with Carolina at the Rangers and Tampa Bay at Colorado in TNT matchups on November 4, and Washington at Pittsburgh and Florida at Los Angeles on November 6. The slate for November 8 has Boston at Toronto, Utah at Montreal, Colorado at Edmonton, and Anaheim at Vegas.

NBA Regular Season (November 1-30)

The NBA tips off its November calendar with six games on November 1, with Sacramento at Milwaukee, Minnesota at Charlotte, Golden State at Indiana, Orlando at Washington, Houston at Boston, and Dallas at Detroit. The Knicks will host the Timberwolves and the Spurs will visit the Lakers in ESPN matchups on November 5, with the Celtics and the Sixers battling in Philadelphia in an NBC contest on November 11.

College Football Regular Season (November 1-29)

The first day of November features three ranked matchups on the college football schedule, with Vanderbilt at Texas, Oklahoma at Tennessee, and Cincinnati at Utah. The November 1 slate also includes top-ranked Ohio State facing Penn State, and second-ranked Indiana at Maryland. Navy meets Notre Dame and LSU takes on Alabama on November 8, with Texas and Georgia set to battle on November 15.

NFL Regular Season (November 2-30)

The first Sunday Night Football contest of November has Seattle at Washington, with Dallas hosting Arizona in the Week 9 Monday night matchup. Week 10 features Philadelphia at Green Bay on Monday night, with the Eagles hosting Detroit on Sunday night in Week 11. The league’s Week 13 Thanksgiving slate has the Lions getting a visit from Green Bay, Kansas City at Dallas, and Baltimore hosting Cincinnati.

NASCAR Cup Series Championship (November 2)

The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season will come to a close at Phoenix Raceway on November 2 with the NASCAR Cup Series Championship. Four drivers remain in contention, with Chase Briscoe, Denny Hamlin, William Byron, and Kyle Larson set to battle for the series title at Phoenix. Hamlin leads the way with six total victories on the season, while Briscoe, Byron, and Larson have each managed to win three races.

College Basketball Regular Season (November 3-30)

Ranked teams meet on the hardwood in college basketball action on November 3 as Arizona takes on Florida, with Texas facing Duke on November 4, and Kansas battling North Carolina on November 7. Alabama meets St. John’s on November 8, while Kentucky faces Louisville and Texas Tech matches up with Illinois on November 11. Purdue and Alabama tip off in a marquee matchup on November 13.

F1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix (November 9)

The drivers of Formula 1 will launch their November schedule on November 9 with the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace. McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri head into the final stretch of the F1 season atop the driver standings, with Norris holding a slim 357-356 lead. Max Verstappen, who has won in Brazil in each of the past two seasons, sits in third place with 321 points.

UFC 322: Della Maddalena vs. Makhachev (November 15)

The UFC Welterweight championship will be on the line at UFC 322 as champion Jack Della Maddalena takes on challenger Islam Makhachev at Madison Square Garden in New York City. As well, champion Valentina Shevchenko will face challenger Zhang Weili for the Women’s Flyweight championship, while Sean Brady and Michael Morales do battle in a Welterweight matchup to round out the top of the card.

F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix (November 22)

After racing in Brazil earlier in the month the drivers of Formula 1 will head north for the Las Vegas Grand Prix at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit on November 22. George Russell was the winner of the Las Vegas Grand Prix last season, with Lewis Hamilton finishing in second place at the event, and Carlos Sainz Jr. rounding out the podium in third place. Verstappen won the inaugural race in Las Vegas back in 2023.

F1 Qatar Grand Prix (November 30)

Formula 1 then rounds out its busy November slate with the Qatar Grand Prix at the Lusail International Circuit on November 30. Verstappen won the Qatar Grand Prix last season, with Charles Leclerc crossing the finish line in second place, and Piastri ending up in third place on the day. Verstappen was also the winner of the 2023 Qatar Grand Prix, while Hamilton won the race the first time it was held back in 2021.
